Leaders

Our leaders are the backbone of our organisation and we could not continue the work that we do without them. We rely on the generosity of our amazing volunteer leaders to deliver our programs across Australia.

Leader Recognition

We deeply acknowledge and appreciate the incredible commitment of our Family Connections leaders, who generously volunteer their time, energy, and compassion to deliver this life-changing course. Their dedication goes far beyond the sessions themselves — they bring empathy, experience, and unwavering support to every family they meet. As volunteers, their contribution is a powerful testament to the strength of community and the belief that no family should walk this journey alone. We thank them for their ongoing passion and the vital role they play in bringing hope, understanding, and connection to so many.

In the following section, we are proud to showcase individual leaders who have achieved milestones within our Leaders Rewards and Recognition Policy. These achievements reflect the time, commitment, and impact these individuals have made in supporting families through the Family Connections program. We celebrate their dedication and thank them for the meaningful difference they continue to make.

Liz Hodgman

We warmly recognise and celebrate Liz for her outstanding commitment to the Family Connections program. Since training as a leader with Dr. Alan Fruzzetti in Adelaide in 2015 during his first visit to help launch Family Connections in Australia, Liz has been a passionate and dedicated volunteer. She has continually shared her time, compassion, and experience to support families through the program, making a lasting impact on countless lives.

Drawing on her background as a teacher, Liz brings a unique blend of insight and empathy to her work. Her belief in the power of Family Connections extends beyond the program itself — she advocates for these vital skills to be taught more widely across the community, including in schools. We are deeply grateful for Liz’s enduring contribution and the difference she continues to make in the lives of carers and families across Australia.

Liz is a senior leader liaison for Headway and a member of the Leaders Sub Committee
